GEA Küba History 

1922

A radiator repair workshop is founded by Heinrich Schmitz in Munich .

 

1927

In just a few years, the repair workshop matures into a well-developed craft enterprise.
As early as 1927, the first evaporators for commercial and industrial refrigeration systems are built.
The transformation into an Air Cooler factory had begun.

 

1949

In 1949,first fan-cooled evaporators were launched.
The demand for an oil-free heat exchangers increased.

 

1952 
The construction of the first high performance evaporator was ushered in a new era. 
That fan-cooled evaporator with a horizontal air duct was mounted on walls and ceilings.
Another unit evaporator with a dual discharge air duct followed soon after.

 
1952

BOSCH, being a customer for condensors, cabinet coolers and cold room evaporators,  persisted on
cleanliness and humidity anlyses. This has had a tremendous impact on improving our products quality.

 

1954

KÜBA Kältetechnik GmbH is founded. The company moves from Quarzbichl to Baierbrunn.

 

1964

Development of the first Qv-Diagram. A considerable amount of professional experience was required in order to earmark the right condenser for a refrigeration system under given operating conditions. 

 

1976

Introduction of the first CAL® refrigerant distributor. It ensures a full, constant cooling capacity at all times at any room temperature with any refrigerant. Also longer cooling times and fewer defrost periods can be realized.

 

1987

In 1987 KÜBA is acquired by GEA Happel.

 

In 1999, GEA joins the mg technologies group. 

 

2005

Change in company name from mg technologies ag to GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft.

 

2008

New segmentation of divisions: http://www.geagroup.com/en/unternehmen/kaeltetechnik.html

 

On July 11th, 2008 KÜBA Kältetechnik GmbH changes to GEA Küba.

 

Summary:

GEA Küba is owned by GEA Grasso, which is owned by GEA, a global group of companies specializing in process and thermal engineering activities. GEA Küba is a member of GEA Refrigeration  Division, which is represented in more than 50 countries and retains a total of about 3,300 employees.
